The Evenheat GTS 17 is designed exclusively for the personal studio and is perfectly large enough and small enough all at the same time. The firing chamber fits our 16" x 16" shelf that offers 1.8 cubic feet of firing surface. The 13.5" depth means you're good-to-go for tall draping and slumping projects. All this in a personal studio package that's just a little over 2 feet wide.
The GTS 17 is designed and built with the same feature-set and performance standards as our larger models and is well suited for all glass firing operations including fusing, slumping, draping, painting and kiln-casting up to 1800°F (982°C).
The GTS 17 is a top loading design and offers a 17" x 17"chamber, 13.5" deep. Our easy to handle 16" x 16" shelf translates into 1.8 square feet of glass firing bliss.
The GTS 17 is constructed of both fiber and firebrick.
The lid of the GTS 17 is constructed of a special fiber material that provides excellent thermal properties along with light weight. This design allows the heating elements to be positioned on the surface for maximum heat transfer and firing efficiency.
The GTS 17 is supplied with a 16" stand for optional floor placement if desired.
The GTS 17 can be placed directly on your counter or bench-top or within the included floor stand, the choice is yours. Counters and bench tops must be constructed of non-combustible material and be capable of supporting the load of the kiln.
Evenheat's patented Quiet Drive Solid State Relay is hands down the best investment you can make in your kiln!
With no moving parts, this relay is able to be triggered up to 60 times a second as opposed to the upper limit of 10 times a second on the default mechanical relay. This means incredibly tight temperature control ensuring each and every one of your firings is as accurate as possible.
The Quiet Drive uses a special method call "Zero Crossing" that will ensure that the heating elements are off when the voltage is at 0V - Giving your heating elements a break so that they will last longer, and you'll save energy!
The best part though? Since there are no moving parts - the Quiet Drive Solid State relay should never need replacing! You will save money and time by never needing to worry about this in the future!

Furniture Kits are necessary accessories for any kiln owner as firing directly on the kiln floor is not only bad for the kiln, but your pieces as well. In addition to this, they're also useful! A furniture kit will allow you to stack multiple shelves on top of one another in order to maximize the useable space when firing smaller pieces.
If you have one that will fit this kiln size already, then you're in luck! But if not, you'll want to ensure you add this to your order as well.

Kiln furniture can be special ordered separately, but if done so the cost is ~10-20% higher and will incur a separate shipping charge. It's best to include this on your initial order of the kiln.
